Above All Else
“Guard your heart.”
I remember hearing that freshmen year. My life group leader warned me—warned all of us. Unfortunately for me, it went in one ear and out the other. I thought I knew what I was doing. For some reason, I didn’t think that I would be susceptible to this.
How stupid I was. The bible cites the most important piece of wisdom as “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
So much pain has stemmed from my inability to properly guard my heart. Mistakes. Confusion. Hurt. All of which could have been prevented by guarding my heart.
So, I’m going to repeat that wisdom for anyone else who hasn’t learned its importance: guard your heart.
I was going to add more to this, but now I really don’t feel like it. :/
